:'( I'm feeling a bit down... I got a flat over the weekend and had to replace my tires... I thought it wasn't too bad to replace one tire. But when I thought things couldn't get any worse, it did. I took my rim to the wheel shop to mount on the new tires and discovered that my rim was all bent up... Now its gonna cost me like $200 plus the replacement tire for $220 just so I can get my baby looking like it should... I swear, LA needs to fix them damn potholes in downtown!
Anyways, I'm rolling around town with one stock rim & tire looking all funky.
For those with 20" rims, what tire profiles are you riding with? I have 245/30/20 in front and 295/25/20 in rear. I'm thinking that the profiles are too low but i'm also afraid that if I get thicker tires it will rub. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

. there are many potholes over here every time after heavy rain. that's one of the main reasons i don't want to change my stock wheels

choi000,
Sorry to hear about that. Two years ago I bent two hartge wheels in the same day. The bend was so bad, it had to be replaced, but I just sold the car with the bent rims, it really hurt. Sounds like the repair isn't too expensive, but still painful nonetheless.
About the tires, I think if you increase the thickness, you may run into rubbing issues, and you still may not solve the problem. I think there are some that have 22X/30, using "30" all the way around, but I am not certain on that. Which wheel has the damage, FR, FL, RR, RL? When I bent my rim, I was told that if I really want to protect my rim, I need to have at least "40". Anything less than that may still give you a headache in those down town streets. I don't even know BMW sells a wheel/tire package with less than "40" because of this potential issue. Supposedly, the tire takes all of the burden, and buffers the rim.
20's look immaculate on an E60 (especially yours), but 19's look pretty nice too, and you can put "40" on 19s.
Whatever you decide...be careful!!!

Waiting for a little more serious damage to have repainted because no matter how small the damage, it will cost $500+ to have the bumper removed and painted! ![Embarrassment](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/ohmy.gif)
