hey guys

my 2006 550i's CPO and maintenance is coming to an end on 02/2012. Though as ridiculous as it sounds, I decided not to buy any form of extended warranty and dump the car for a ford focus if the repair gets too expensive.

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make sure my car is as healthy as it should be for a 70,000mile car before warranty ends?

Any good indie shops around irvine/tustin area?

When my intial warrenty was about to expire at 50K , my advisor suggested I make notes of all rattles, thumps , vibrations , steering issues , electonics, Trans Shift points ... etc and then come see him . When I took the car in , I noted everything I could think of and they checked it out. In review of my items ,they found things to fix of replace . The Dealership gets paid from the Parent BMW for warrenty info but they must have reason to fix or replace. Mine is a 08 550i sport with 68K now. I did buy the extended BMW warrenty and I've been worry free since.

If my memory is correct , $3400. Since I have had the extended warrenty , I've had a new Transmission brain installed as I was experencing hestitation when I put the car into reverse. New Plugs, Brakes front and rear. Since I plan to keep the car until it hits 90K and then sell, I think I'll get my moneys worth and added value to the guy who buys it with 10K left .

Man I wish I had your SA for my SA. I asked my SA if there are any inspection service that I can pay to do a full check of the car before my warranty ends. All he said is that they'll visually check stuff and check for error codes. I wonder what more there are to do to make sure my car is in its top shape. Sigh.........

I was thinking of selling my 550i and buy a 2009 or 2008 128i just for more years of warranty, but seems like a bad move.

Same thing happen to me!!!
I went back to my SA a month ago, and tell him that my car warranty is going to be expired. He said all he can do is check the error code and see if there is any service due soon!!!
That was everything been done on my car when it was almost 49000 mi.
Later, I found my car is due for brake fluid service in Feb.

I think I should find a new SA!!!
Any suggestion???
