If you're referring to the steering wheel buttons programmed through the IDrive, then I do have them. My vehicle came with NAV Prep, so I have them. If your referring to a different set of buttons located somewhere else, then I was confused.
+1

The original post states

I was curious about the addition of the programmable buttons and wanted to see if they were the answer to a question that didn't need answering.
The buttons - as have been discussed many times here - were added with the LCI in the 5er Series. They are not on the MFL.

I love the buttons, have them on the 335i, I only wish there were more of them. I use one of them to program to an HD radio station, I saved it as "manual tune" instead of preset and I can get to the HD2 station with a click on the channel up button. This gets around the annoying problem of not being able to save an HD2 as a preset.

I also thought the poster was referring to the steering wheel buttons, which are indeed programmable buttons. Please realize that some us who are new to the forum are not fully fluent in e60-speak, nor have we been privy to previous discussions, no matter how many time this topic may have arisen.

Speaking of how important these buttons are worth, my friend upgraded from an '06 325i to an '07 650i. When she realized that the 650i had no preset buttons for her radio *and* that the sunroof really didn't open like her 325i she turned in her 650i and ordered an '08 328i!

I'm not kidding folks. The presets meant that much to her.

Now I know that it's not the programmable buttons on the 5-series LCI we're talking about here but it sure says a lot about how important such a feature is to some people.

If I was in the market for a BMW I would have bought an '08 328i and gladly trade her for her 650i!
I KNOW that she doesn't check out the E60 Forum much otherwise she'd kill me for telling others about this...
