I sent the pic to my tire guy who does a lot of Falkens. 285/30/19 is tough to find, if you are running ET28 offset you could consider 275/35/19 but it would gear your car slightly higher but the speedo would be just about right on the money.

I have an 07 550. My rear tires are 285 30 19's no rubbing problems but hard finding 285 sizes . I have ps2's
I have Falken tires 245/35/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears and you can see from the pixs that rims are to big in the back. Fronts seem to be ok but still not flush. Just got the tires last week too. (

Tire dealer says it appears that tire is too small for the wheel width. I guess there is a pretty big variation in actual sizes.
maybe you should share your thoughts on this thread so that others dont make the same mistake in future: Tirewidth Thread

Are you on stock OEM sport springs? Would you measure the distance from the bottom of the drivers side door handle to the ground and post it? Another 550i was measured at appox 31.7", yours looks lower. Great looking car!
Thx,
Bob

i came across an older post that talked about this same issue...the tire seems to be to small for the rim. one member mentioned that different tire brands have different tire widths in the same size.
275/30/19's
- Falken FK452 -> contact surface is <275mm, overall width (incl. sidewalls!) only 275mm!
- Dunlop SP Sport Maxx -> contact surface is <275mm, overall width only 280mm!
- Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta -> contact surface is =275mm, overall width 295mm
i think the vredesteins were wide enough to fully cover the rim without going to 285/30/19.
here's the link: Width of tyres on m166/m167 rims?
hope this helps.
