Anyone with stock body sport suspension running 166's?
#1
I know there are a number of new members wondering the same thing. I have spent a couple hours looking through the forum and don't think I have seen this combo, most have a body kit installed which changes the look. I have a 2008 platinum gray 535i which Looks like I have appox 1" tire gap front and rear. I don't want to lower the car and am afraid 166's or 167's just won't look right.
There has been some discussion about mixing different front and rear tire diameters, I want to point out that the new M3 sedan is running 245/35/19 frt and 265/35/19 rr. With the ET28 166's you could run 245/35 frt and 275/35 rear which might look good and have no rubbing issues.
Anyone with stock body, sport suspension running 166's please post pictures.
Thanks,
Bob

between non-sport and sport, its a 0.7" difference. member dtvarnum has 166s, stock body, and sport suspension i believe. here's a picture of his car from the meet: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=541907 last picture on that post, post #24.

Now the issue I have is that the rim sticks out further than the tire wall. I have 275/30/19 on the rear and 245/35/19 on the front. The front seems to do ok, but the rear is really bothering me. I have Sport suspension on my MY05 530i and running stock. I think I may try some 285/30/19 and see if that helps. It could also be the type of tire too. Hopefully can get it resolved.
Here come pixs.

Thanks NeRwEEzy, I just put them on with a set of Falken 452's (I think 452's). The tires run very quiet compared to the Bridgestone Potenzas that were on the car.

Is that an ACS lip on your car? Nice combo with wheels.

I sent the pic to my tire guy who does a lot of Falkens. 285/30/19 is tough to find, if you are running ET28 offset you could consider 275/35/19 but it would gear your car slightly higher but the speedo would be just about right on the money.
