I had my computer upgraded per a recall notice a few months ago. (I have yet to check on which level upgrade I received.) Just recently, driving over 100mph I noticed an audible whining noise seeming to come from the computer/center console (not the engine). I never had this noise previous to the upgrade. Anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks for any info!

Its not the computer. You have a small hole in the windshield adhesive. You are hearing a high pitched whistle. Read this thread carefully. Also verify that the sound your are hearing is similar to the one at 145mph in the third video in this post.

Thanks Hormazd,

I missed that thread altogether. Now I have to figure out how to convince New Century BMW to replicate the problem in order to hear it!

I tried convinced my servis with video but they said that that is not good enough. They need to hear that on their own. But the problem is that the sounds occurs just sometimes, sometimes it is quiet..... I guess I will just have to thow a rock at my winshield in order get the winshield changed.

Probably...
It's a known problem, so there is no need to test drive...
