Its got region coding

If you look at the part numbers for the system on the dealers computer, you will see that each region has a different part number.

Ofcourse they may not sell you one for a different region than where you live

What has?

The US ordering system refers to "697 DVD Area coding, North America" but you can't buy a DVD player as a factory fit option.

Pochymu vy tak dumayt'ye?

Or in Ukrainian: Choho vy tak dumayte?....

I've been to Ukraine several times BTW.

So remove the doubt...

Well thanks for that. Analogue and Digital TV as well as DVD.

Not sure what "privod" means but the rest makes sense.

My rough translation (not BabelFish!!) for others:

This function allows the viewing of televison broadcasts and films on DVD (sic) on the central display. Supports the 8.8" monitor. DVD "privod" and video module for the receipt of analogue and digital signals. Adds option 663 "Audio System BMW Professional"...

"privod" means 'unit', or 'a part'.

So they mean that it comes with a dvd drive.

The DVD is region "locked" not by BMW but from the DVD manufacturer. If you are brave enough there is a way. Take the CCC out; open it and find the DVD brand. Then unhook the DVD from the CCC and plug it into your home computer. There are plenty of utilities on the internet that will let you find the firmware of your DVD. With this info find the region unlocked firmware and "flash" your DVD. (Search for Region Free Unlock DVD etc)

Its not that difficult if you know what you're doing. However, if the flash fails your will end up with $300 worth of paperweight.

Good luck

Thumbs up

Perhaps this is the same DVD system as the one offered in the BMW individual five series website? Edit: Sorry about the image quality, did not notice until it was uploaded

I wouldn't know that, but I wouldn't be surprized if BMW has changed OEMs for their DVD players over the years. This means that it is possible that all CCCs do not have DVDs from the same manufacturer.
