I brought my car in for service this week because the brakes were grinding/squealing from around 10 mph down to 0. The pads weren't worn and the brakes were fine under all other circumstances. I read about a known issue with the front wear sensors contacing the rotors and mentioned it to my SA. The work order indicates that the front pads and sensors were replaced. Here's the problem: 1) the low speed grinding is still present, although it may be coming from the rear axle which was not looked at while the car was in service? Also, now that the new front pads and rotors were renewed there is a bad rubbing/ringing noise when turning the wheel at parking lot speeds - without hitting the brakes! I am hoping that whatever is rubbing will wear in? It sounds and feels (through the steering wheel) like a crystal glass if you circle the rim with a moistened finger.
Does anyone know what this is? So I can assist my SA in addressing it?
Thanks for any help.
