Is it just my car, or is it a design issue. When its been raining and the car is wet, and the rear door is opened water drips down from the roof/door seal area onto the seat...AAAHHH

Anyone else??

I rarely use the rear doors, but have had that happen in the trunk -- no big deal if I don't keep it open too long.

"Normal" in that there's nothing wrong with your car, just with all of our cars. Sometimes what I do is if there are large drops of water at risk of coming in when opening the door is to give the car a good shove or two first. This typically causes a fair amount of the water to roll off thus minimizing unintended water intrusion.

I've had my E61 530d for a few weeks now and have also noticed the rain issue. If it has been raining heavily quite a bit of water gets into the car and inevitably down the back of the rear seats. It's not one of the car's best features!

I guess this might be more of a problem for us in the wet UK climate

I have the same issue with my E60. I think it has to do with the way the door sills are designed to decrease wind noise at high speeds. Due to this design water falls in. However, I read that the new 3 Series does not have this issue because it has "channels" for the water to filter way. But I am not sure.

Yes same here! Maybe we need to open the doors very slowly or move to warmer climates

I have the same thing if there is water on the roof and I open any window, water pours in. Happened on my G35 also. That's what you get when they stopped making rain gutters on the roof
