Anybody here use their E60 to jump-start another car? If so, did you connect the jumper cables under the hood?

Yes under the hood is where you need to be. Look over by driver side shock/strut mounting point. There you'll see the positive under the red cap and the negative is the big bolt head closest to the fender, it's the biggest bolt head in that area.

Yes the jumper cables will be connected to an positive terminal under the hood on the driver side. The positive terminal has an black cover over it with an + on it. If your still confused refer to owners manual.

Just make sure not to hook it up backwards, as there is a good chance you will fry one of your computers. Not a cheap mistake.

Personally I wouldn't jump another car from mine. The electrics are to sensitive and putting the load of another battery straight onto the system may well cause issues. I've been down the road of electrical problems and don't want to go there again.

Yea under hood....did it a while ago with the 545i...just do it in right order...forgot what it is now but it's in the owners manual and should be written on a tag on the jumper cables...
