When you press and hold the DSC button the complete system is shut off.
By pressing the button and releasing it, you remain in DTC.

I haven't had luck with that either. Even with all of the nannies off.

I used to be able to spin so much that I had to drive well to get a good time. After 20.01.00, my car lost its spinability. So, now, to get good times, it is just point and shoot for me. I think I am better off on average, but that my ability to do an exceptional pass now is more limited.

Press DTC and hold until the triangles show up in your instrument cluster to turn all the nannies off as much as possible. You may have retarded software too.

No problem with the 550 and manual transmission. You do have to hold the DTC button for 3 seconds though to turn off traction control. An automatic 525 with all wheel drive may not be able to spin unless you brake torque pretty hard.

Here is my tire spin story: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=26732&hl=

the new 525s have 3.0litre engines and 215horsepower with 185torque... it should have enough power to do SOME slippage... lol

That's the great thing about the 4wd - you can put down masses more power than a 525 can deliver without getting wheelspin.
really spooky trying loads of welly off the line even in snow.

Leave the burning rubber to drift racers and boy racers

Hehe i agree on that, but it is always fun to try that once and put your rear once to the side

Why waste rubber?

I've got RFT sport tires and try to avoid taking the nannies off, so the tires last at least 10K. To date, I have left a few long strips of rubber. Its fun, but that rubber buring smell gets you thinking??

Actually, I lied above. I only did it once, and I didn't inhale.
