I have updated the SW 2 weeks ago to the version 11.1 (or whatever the newest version was at the time) but my Voice Command is still not working. Dealer is clueless.

When can I expect the update that will activate the Voice Command?

All I know is that the newest soon-to-be-released version is due sometime in June. I think it's going to be version 12.

I will say that I (as well as many others) have voice recognition working now with some flavor of version 11.

Not sure what's up with your car -- maybe the voice activation needs to be activated somehow even though it is present in the software?

Who knows when the next update comes out. At the rate they are coming out it will take 15 years to get all the glitches out. And the final software version will be when we are all out of warrenty and it wouldn't supprise me if BMW charged more than the car it.

Dont get me wrong i love my car. But, these glitches are getting to me. They're drving me nuts!!!!!!!!

Voice recognition works great in my car with version 11.1. The dealer told me that the issue with voice still not working is only an issue in the 545i. Version 12 should clear up this issue. If you have a 530i and have the latest software 11.1, voice should work fine.

Voice works fairly well on my 545 and some version of 11 software.

Hmm. Not sure why there would be a difference between voice on a 530 vs. a 545.

I've learned to ignore the I-Drive all together, keep telling myself everytime: "It's not there, it's not real..." After doing that repeatedly, my E60 became very lovable again.

Sorry to say, but Voice Recognition dosn't work in Europe with Navi Prof and version 11.x. My dealer has no clue WHY, and when it will be fixed...

At the Munich delivery center I got a quick lesson on the Voice gizmo. My ED-CA Bernhard started by saying "OPTIONS" (this became a joke here at home because he said it loud and in a very thick German accent....kind of like Colonel Klink in Hogan's Heroes....but I digress) The system worked fine although we only tried a small number of commands. I am currently awaiting redelivery of the car.

If the voice system recognizes "options" and a few subsequent commands...does that mean it is working correctly and completely? Or, are some of you seeing that it works half the time or only just part way into the menu and then there are problems?? Thanks in advance.

Mine works pretty well. I think the problems I'm having relate to my lack of familiarity with all the commands, etc. Sometimes I say something that is recognized as something different.

If I know the command is valid and say it fairly clearly, it works fine.

The only major issues I've seen are with the CPT9000 commands. The "save name" command simply isn't recognized. Also, I was messing around with the ventilation commands and a command echoed to me after saying options simply didn't work. (Can't remember the exact command at this time.)

Overall, it works pretty well -- I think the problems are more part of the learning curve of the user.

I have a 545i March build and the only problem I have is the The "save name" command simply isn't recognized. All the other voice commands are fine. Version 12 is due sometime in June, according to my dealer.
