180.000 km's now...

1000+ km's / week. Runs smooth and no problems what so ever ;-)

There are space shuttles out there with less mileage than that.

Glad to hear this, but most of e60 owners sold after 2/3 years.
For me I sold after 2.5 years with 23000 KM.

Enjoy with yr car

My 328 did 120,000 miles in three years and I cained it from day-one. All it need in all that mileage was a new thermostat.
My 320d Touring has done 110,000 in four years and it's needed nothing other than oil changes and floor mats. Front brakes and discs are still original.
That's why I am buying a 5 touring (E61) this week.

just a thought.. if most of e60 owners are selling their car after 2-3 years there must be buyers right. and those are the ones who put real milage on them. it's also interesting to see what are the common problems that may accur after 100k. i am planning to keep mine for a while and it's better to know what to expect

Well it looks like a few of you guys/gals are pounding away on these cars- and that's a good thing. Glad to hear they can take a long term beating.

We're doing about 1,200 miles a month on ours.

I'm stil on the fence as to whether we should lease a new 3 series next year for the wife (64+ miles a day round-trip commute)- and let her drive it- and I take the 5 (13.2 miles a day round trip commute). Or if I should get a used 7, and we drive the 5 until the warranty expires- then get something else.

I guess we'll know better what we should do, depending on how well the 5, and our careers in this economy) holds up over the next 3 years. I still see a lot of E39's on the road- I guess the question of long term (100K plus) driving, would be better directed in that forum since all those cars are 6 years old, and older, with a drivign average (in America) of 12,000 miles a year- theose folks should be at 72,000 miles and above.

I think i have the title for now 129k-My last car was 2001 330xi with 165,000 and ran just like it came of the showroom. Only problem repairs so far with my e60 were control arms and tie-rods. I do alot of work myself, so the car runs like a dream. Even my dealer who sold me the car is surpised that I have a 2004 with that many miles and no problems. Waiting for the new f10 model. I had a 1998 ht volvo c70 that i sold to my friend with 228,000 miles and he has had no problems with it yet. Cars are meant to be driven. Right now I know my car has little cash value, but it means the world to me until the next one. The lowest mileage car I had was a 2002 M3, love the car, but it was too stiff of a car for my daliy commute, which includes travleing across two state lines. I brought the M3 as supplement to the 330xi for the summer. I brought it with 25,000 and sold it with 31,000 miles.

I bought mine nov. 2008 with 51,XXX miles on it. It hasn't been a year yet, it has 78,XXX miles on it... my 2 year 24,000 aftermarket engine/tranny BS warranty expired which I should have never gotten in the first place. We learn from our mistakes... My plan is to either get rid of this before hitting the 100k and get a 645 or 650 or just keep this and WAY more mods.
