We bought our BMW pre-owned, and we purchased the 3 year 36K mile bumper to bumper warranty. So, for the next 3 years, I'm not worried about the BMW as far as maintenance goes. Maintenance was one reason why I said I'd never buy a used BMW, but since this warranty is as good as a CPO I sleep easy at night.
The most technology laden BMW on the road (7 series) is owned by my friend, and he has 62K miles on his, and aside from someone messing his door up whiel tryign to steal his car, it's been bullet proof- even the electronics.
But, 62,000 miles isn't 100K.
Looking for those willing to tell their stories about reliability and long term driving on their BMW's.
There are plenty of Accords, Altimas, F-150's, Silverado's, Tacoma's, etc with 200K, 300K, 400K miles on them. We hear about those all the time.
How many 100K plus BMW owners do we have on the board?

Wow a million miles I can't even imagine. Haha that actually reminds me of that Married With Children episode where Al's Dodge hits a million miles and he's supposed to get a free Viper

There was a story a couple years ago with a Saab making it over 1 million miles. I just hit the 100K two weeks ago. Don't think I'm going to try a million.
I thought it was Volvo.

The last two cars I owned were Saab 9-3 before I bought my 525i. I would probably still be driven a Saab but I want a larger car. I didn't like the styling of the 9-5 and my girlfriend nudged me into getting my BMW. I'm so glad she did

Just about to hit 99,000 miles.
The cars are meant to be driven.
All cars are.
I had an old Porsche with an average of 5k a year on it.
Then I put up 33,000 miles on it and sold it on.
It's not a compeition to see who can drive the least and it's not like they will stop making cars or that your car will have so many more issues that it's not worth driving.
