My Ride: '04 545i, sport pkg, premium sound, sprint booster,
I changed my transmission and rear differential fluids just south of 60K. I had a small transmission leak (bad seal), so while that was taken care of I decided I might as well do the rear dif also. I don't have high mileage yet, but I want to get there without too many problems.

I have 113K on my '04 545i. Serviced under plan to 100K. Normal wear items covered, brakes, filters, spark plugs. I had to replace coolant tank and coolant vent return line.
I am now worried on the water pump. I see a couple replaced but in inline 6s. Any experience on the V8 water pumps? I ran around one day with my actron scan tool connected to my OBDII port and monitored the cycle drive items which contains actual temp readings. Ran around 205 and 210 degrees on a 95 degree day. So I think its pumping fine.
What are the signs of a failing pump other than the pulling falling off, coolant everywhere.

My Ride: 2004 BMW 545i 6mt, Titanium Silver, Sport Package, Winter Package
Since I did not find much on the E60 when I was looking at buying a 8 cyl BMW. I researched the e39 540 and the 745i which was available in 2002. Since these motors are amost the same platform as the E60's 8 cyl engine I used them as a comparison. I saw e39 540i and the 745i's with 200+ k miles on them so that was conformation that the E60's 545i Engine will hold up. So far I have put 30k miles on my engine and it shows no signs of wear as its approaching 89k miles.

2005 523i 188000km (116000miles) Replaced water pump and radiator and recently put in a new battery. Have not touched the tranny fluid as transmission is perfect but will inquire. Car runs as good as new and service regularly no major parts giving problems. My water pump was replaced but the fault was actually the radiator I found out after but doesnt hurt to have a spanking new water pump.

My Ride: BMW 525d SE Auto
Well after reading these very impressive mileage numbers it kind of gives me confidence in what I purchased just 3 months ago, a 525d SE on a 54' plate (September 2004). It had 51,000 miles on the clock and I love it.
All pretty new to me the BMW scene. MPG is about 38 miles, and on a run I get about 44MPG - No complaints and the build quality is superb

Closing in on 75K and I have no thoughts of getting rid of her. I can honestly say, my E60 has been a great vehicle.

My Ride: ActiveHybrid - fully tricked out
Model Year: 2013
I'm at something like 120,000 KM. That's about 75,000 miles. Still rides like new. Just detailed her yesterday and I have to say that she looks like new (except for hood stone chips that I must fix before winter salt).
I intend to keep her for another couple of years at least.
Cheers
