My Ride: BMW 550i
Model Year: 2011
mines has 211,000 miles on it. Nothing really worth talking about just service items. However, i have rough running and just posted something tonight. The vacum pipes are all eroded and will need repaired. I keep my cars until they get crashed or die.
e39.....345,000 miles
e60 530d......268,000 miles wrote it off.
current model e60 535d....211,000 hope its good for another 200,000 miles engines bulletproof. Must confess i spent a few quid on a gt1. And these cars are all electronics i figure it will pay for itself at the end of the day.
Much written about the dpf, i bought this car at around 100,000 miles and its not had one!

My 2005 545i Update
46250 miles - Tie Rod
My allignment guy told me the tie rod seized that he couldn't adjust the toe.
I told him if he could still adjust it w/ some force (I was under the car w/ him). He managed to adjust it.
After 2 days, now it develops squeeking noise. Looks like the tie rod needs replacement.
I read E90 forum where an owner reported that E60 OE tie rod is made of both steel and aluminum (will seize due to difference in material) and BMW didn't put enough anti seize on it.

Wow, there are some very impressive numbers in here. I have a 04 545 MT with 78K
At about 70K I did my clutch/flywheel, ran me about 3300
Since then, just brakes and the usual maintenance
My idrive did blink the other day though and I had to restart the car, seems its time for the alternator to be changed.

Does it cover under extend maintenance ?

Wow what a great post - fantastic to see so many E60s running 100,000 miles more without significant issues.
There are 93 E60s for sale now on autotrader.com with 100,000 miles or more ... the highest mileage shown is 148,000 miles.

Do it. Do not buy into the "lifetime fill" bs. BMW would love to sell you a new auto tranny out of warranty. I changed the auto tranny fluid in my 99 540i several years ago. I was told more than once by the dealer not to do it. I changed it at 112k, shifts were incredibly smoother and I also picked up another mpg. Shouldve done it at 75k, the fluid was disturbing to say the least. Tranny fluid breaks down over time no matter what. BMW doesnt magically have some formula that doesnt.
On a side note, I should also add that i know an owner of a 6mt 545i with over 160k on the clock. Nothing but routine maintnance, i drove it with 157k and thats what sold me on my current 545i.
