Any interest in a 'poor man's' paddle shift solution?

I'm assuming, correct me if I'm wrong, that it basically replicates the +/- functions of the shifter. It would only work in theory if the car was in DS/M mode. Your car should still be able to have DS mode (provided you don't hit one of the buttons to change songs/change the volume)

Yeah, that's probably the most logical way it'll work Xeronix.

Bruce, can you use the Voice Control on the steering wheel to act as on of the buttons? The majority of cars I've seen don't have the voice control pack making this button redundant. I'm assuming that all e6x's have that button wired up, as they had to put the button there anyway, so I don't see them making a custom steering wheel just to add voice control for the sake of one wire. Unless they were really tight?

Bruce-
I might be interested just need to see next time I drive if those buttons would be easy to shift with while I'm driving. Hopefully I can and hopefully the whole center console would not need to be removed.

You just need access to the plug below the shifter and the idrive knob.

I would definitely be interested in this Mod. I think i'd want it on the assignable buttons since I don't use them. Actually I don't think i use any of those buttons except for answering the phone. Does anyone else? that little dial on the dash is just too handy!
