I'm in a quandary, the deep sea blue is looking great, and I need to choose between this and Carbon Black for new 09 M-Sport

Have you considered Azurite black? It has a dark blue shade under bright light (sun) and black all other times. IMO, best of both worlds. Today the sun was out and I stood admiring the paint work on my car. BMW did well on the azurite paint. Check it out.
