Any DIY sources for this repair?

Hi I have an e60 2007 525i and I was told by a reputable mechanic that I need to change the lower radiator hose ( Part # 17127521778) the temp sensor ( Part # 13621433077) and a 4 way hose that seems to be known as the return hose as well (Part # 17127560160). They want $1300 to do it but I can get the parts for no more than $300 so I'm trying to find any resources that shows a DIY of this procedure to gauge if it's something I'm capable of doing. The 4 way hose is giving me the most trouble as far as finding info online. I've done repairs on the car before but they all had ton of DIY resources I was able to watch and read before performing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Worth noting: I was told there was a coolant leak on the temp sensor of the lower radiator hose and that the 4 way hose looked swollen from a previous oil leak. This is why the need for replacements.

Sounds like those are just recommendations. Is your car not running properly?

Hi thanks for the response. Well I was definitely losing coolant and asked them to take a look. I was told the reservoir was cracked (I didn't mention that as it's an easy job I will be replacing myself) along with the information mentioned above so I'm not sure if everything or just one or two things mentioned are responsible for the loss of coolant.

I had that too. Mine cracked when the water pump failed. Do the reservoir and if it's not that, then move on to the next suspect.

This is not that hard of a DIY job. Of course, it does depend on your DIY level. I'd rate this as low skill needed, but somewhat messy. Use Realoem.com to find the parts. If you are doing all this may sure you also change the hose that goes from the thermostat to the engine block and has the "mickey mouse" connector. That connector, on the engine block end, is plastic and has a habit of breaking off. Get a hose with an aluminum end from Rein or get an aluminum adapter from any number of aftermarket sources.
