the most important thing is:
it makes a hell of a fun to use DS, specially when you are on the AUTOBAHN her in Germany
but now back to Topic:
I tell you, the only thing that changes using DS is the higher consumption, nothing really important..
BTW: Next car will be Stick shift,sometimes the automatic shift f*ckes me up a bit, it makes what it wants..

One trick I can Teach you that a fellow friend taught me is. In Manual Mode(When you have M1,M2,M3,etc.. on ur dashboard). If you keep the stick shift towards the + or - , It will remain in the same gear even if you reach the Rev Limit, It will not change. That is good whenever you have turns and you do not want to upshift

Also actually a high revving engine-one that keeps the car driven hard will probably have a better engine over time since there will be much less carbon deposits and build up overall. The parts take the wear stopping and starting-once moving it does not cause any more wear if they move at 3kk or 6k rpms-it is the constant starting and stopping that is the worst for an engine-hence highway mileage much better

Technically speaking(but I'm no engineer lol), constantly higher rev, and frequent downshifts/upshifts would
result in more stress/wear and tear on the drivetrain(including differential).
But now, by how much? It's an anybody's guess as we won't be able to find out.
Most people don't keep their cars beyond 200k miles so no one should really worry about this more wear and tear.
Automatic tranny does fail at some point and it will be expensive to fix w/o warranty. I would at least change the oil, AT fulid, differential and coolant
more frequently/earlier than scheduled.
Have fun yet don't abuse it. I'm sure everyone knows driving aggressively/fun vs plain abuse the car.
