My Ride: 2011 F10 535i -Brilliant Graphite/Oyster 2006 E5004matic- I must have been on drugs when I got this car 2004 545i Black Sapphire/Truffle Brown interior

Ok, I have been around this forum long enough to know that I will get tons of replies to look at the label in the door panel, but I am hoping that one of you has a quick and correct answer.

It being a gorgeous spring day today, I got it in my head that I must get rid of my winter tires and replace them with my all seasons and it had to be done today. Rather than call my dealer and be told that i can get an appointment in six weeks and being very tired of getting ripped off every time I have to change my tires, I called my local tire store and lucked into an appointment this afternoon. They did a great job in changing the tires, the boss supervised the work as he knows me
and appreciates me coming to him with my 545. He appoliged to me for having to charge me a bit more $ 55.00 tax included,
I laughed to myself as my dealer charges $ 130.00 tax included.

Anyways they set front pressure at 28 psi and the rear at 36 psi , it does not sound right to me, I seem to recall that perhaps 32 all around is right but am not sure.

Tires are non runflats size 225 50 R17.

I did look at the door panel, they list a bunch of sizes the closest to my size being 220's but of course 225 was not on the label ( So why did they install 225's on my car at time of delivery?) They also list different pressures depending if you carry 2 or 3 passengers in the rear, loved this one, what am we supposed to do inflate and deflate every time someone enters and exits?

OK OK I have spring fever, what can I say. Can someone please tell me the ideal pressure given my set up.

Thanks

You should really take the time to inflate/deflate the tires every time someone enters/exits your car. Also depending on which side they sit on the back you should make adjustments to that tire as well.

Now seriously: 30/35 (front/rear) will accomodate most situations.

You just gota love this forum!!!!

Went into the information section of the forum, called up a 2004 owners manual and there on page 171
were the correct PSI settings for all tire sizes including my own, 29 PSI for the front and 35 PSI for the rear, even tells you the settings for those that carry three passengers in the rear seat, lol.

Thanks to LOMAG and all other contributors for making this site so great.

just fill it 35 psi all around, theres a max of 40, 50 or 60 psi depending on the type of tire you have. then reset the ftm. (flat tire monitor)

Will the 35 psi applies to 20" tires as well? Thanks in advance.

Exchange rate is not what it used to be, but $55 Canadian is still damn cheap!

Either 32 or 35 psi all around should be OK for the set-up you have.

I think you may want more air to protect the bigger wheels. I'm running 39 psi in my 19" rears (36 in front).
