I think the beauty of all BMW angel eyes (starting with the E39 and on) is the fact that the angel eyes are a dim yellowish white light while the Xenon ellipsoids are a bright bluish white light. It is that contrast that makes it look so nice and unique. The fake aftermarket angel eyes that are so white and bright don't look as nice and just blend with the rest of the light coming from the Xenons, therefore no contrast. IMO it looses the modern/classy look and just looks like a teenager's moded car.

. i've seen some older e39 and 3 series have them. for me, they just don't look right
