Ever since I ditched the Pirellis and got the Michellin PS2, the car's handling has dramatically improved. However it feels a little slow / heavy off the mark ( from a standstill) but then accelerates normally. Additionally, the rear tires when viewed from behind look less wide as compared to the Pirellis. Tires have 250 miles on them.

1. Tires need to be broken in for about 2k miles, if you get them brand new. After that you can really start assessing their pluses and minuses. And I'd refrain from messing with the tires until then. However...

2. I'd look to your tire pressures. What most likely is the cause of your particular concern is the fact that the sidewall of the Michellins is considerably softer that of the Pirellis, hence your tire will feel more sluggish. A little extra pressure will fix this right up - just don't go overboard. I'd put about 4-5 psi more than your driver's door sticker recommends and see if it feels better. But be sure that the Michellins are rated to take that amount of pressure (which they are, more than likely).

I've driven several cars on Michellins in my life and I must say, those are pretty close to a perfect tire, as far as cruising tires go. If you want edgy and racy, though - not necessarily the case

either way, let me know if the above fix works/you'd tried it before posting

Yeah, there's break-in period. For sure the car may feel a bit sluggish, but that's just all that nice soft tread wiggling around. This is especially noticeable if your old tires were really worn. Some guys actually go so far as to "shave" the tires to avoid this. Not sure about the width, but it should be the same since 245, for example, means 245mm wide, no matter the tire. However, with different tire designs they can appear narrower--angles and soforth. Also, if the tire pressure is lower, they'll tend to flatten out and look wider, especially if the sidewalls are softer.
