If I am in a map view in mavigation and want to change CD, I press the menu button, go into Entertainment and do what I need to do.

If I want to go back to the map view, I have to press the menu button, select navigation, pull the idrive controller to take me to the bottom of the screen and press on the map view to see the map again. Is this right??

Also, I am sure some people were saying that you could use full postcodes on their Nav but then it was reported that with the 2005-2 disc you could still only enter 5 digits. Can anyone confirm?

I am on ver16.2 software. Car going into dealer on Friday for Oil Change, look at clunk in steeering and look at squeeky door seals. Do Uk dealers recode the software as a matter of course or do I have to ask them for v17 ?

Thanks

If your on the map view and go the entertainment for example, to go back just
slide the idrive controller towards Navigation and hold. After a few seconds
you will be defaulted to the previous state of that mode, ie. map view.
Your going the "long way round".

Instead of going back to menu, you can hold the iDrive to the right until NAV returns to the screen that you had before you changed to CD player. I imagine this would work on NAV Pro or Business.

If anything like the US, you will have to ask and hope.

Thanks

Also, when you can select a different view in the right hand side on Pro Nav - why when you are viewing a map on the left can you not have a different map on the right?

On my Alpine HU I used to split the view, on the left was zoomed out, north up, on the right was zoomed in facing direction of travel?

That's a reasonable question. I don't know a reasonable answer. :'(

Voice commands are another option.

Voice Commands would be lovely, if the retrofit wasn't on hold!

Or, for the Dora the Explorer fans in the group, say "backpack!"
