My Ride: 07' 550i sport; Sapphire Black/Auburn; sport package; steptronic; navigation with R.T.T.I.; heads up; cold weather package; Logic-7; BMW MOST ipod kit; Motorola V3 snap-in adapter; rear heated seats and rear shades; anthracite headliner; sirrius sat. radio; M-aero kit; OEM style 166 Wheels with 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear Michelin PS2s.
There are a number of variables, but in general summer tires aren't much louder than all seasons and contrary to what you'd think, they're better in the rain. Thing is that the summer tires become very loud when they become worn down. Personally, I have no use for all seasons. They are like that 50 year old guy in town who is very intelligent and knows a little about everyhting, but not enough in any one area to make a living. Summer tires from March-November then snows. IMHO summer tires should be used when possible particularly on a BMW since their roll resistant suspensions really use the full ability of the tire, unlike a Benz or an Audi that usually wears an inside or outside edge long before the middle of the tread is gone. My2cents.

Run-flat Dunlops with 6000+ miles on them are louder than all-season tires, snow tires or monster-truck-Big-Foot-stadium-smoking-car-crushing tires. Most "normal" summer tires (non RFT) are fine, you don't need all season. Go with the Michelin PS2s....

Thanks guys.
I think I will continue to use max performance summer tires.
PS2, F1-GD3, or RE50A pole position one of these three will be my choice.
