After enduring 3 days of rental car sea sickness (see my Lincoln Town Car post), I finally got my car back today. Dealer replaced all 4 door seals and upgraded software to v18. Can't believe how quiet the car is, unbelievable, just hope that it remains so. I'm actually afraid to open the windows for fear the new seals will overreact and start-a-creaking again.

Also am thrilled with v18 that corrects the horrendous transmission slam and abrupt shifts from steptronic. When at a stop, the car seemed to jump when the brakes were released (almost felt like too high idle). Now it's smooth as can be. Also, when slowing from about 40mph, the transmission used to downshift abruptly from 3rd to 2nd before coming to stop. No matter how hard I tried to modulate it, the beast wouldn't cooperate. Now it's fantastic. I think that I'm in love all over again :wub:

One thing that I did notice with upgrade from v15 to v18 was in the Communications/Phone/Dial submenu; in addition to the numbers and symbols, there are now all letters of the alphabet included. Don't really know when I would ever need to dial a letter, but I guess the more the merrier. :thumbsup:
