My Ride: 2008 535xi
2008 CRG Road Rebel, Rotax FR125
I picked up my 2008 535xi a week ago Saturday and everything was great. We took it for a few spins, both city and highway but didn't drive a lot during the week. Our first long drive was from Boston to the Cape, mostly highway. On the way down, I noticed the car wanting to steer to the left, requiring constant adjustment to center and/or holding the steering slghtly to the right.
Before purchase, I test drove the car as did my wife and a friend, none of us noticed any issues. We have not hit anything, no large bumps, no potholes and the car has been garaged when not in use.
Does anyone know what causes the alignment issue (other than hitting something) and does it appear suddenly or slowly over time? My assumption is that this is covered under the original warranty and something the dealer should remedy. Please let me know if I am incorrect. I've searched for answers online and found issues, but no real consistent answers.
Thanks

No alignment would be obvious from the first test drive, if you paid attention. If there were no issues with alignment before, try checking the tire pressures, especially on the left side. Low pressure on the left rear will make it seem to pull to the left - good luck

Check tire pressure. Obviously never go to the max pressure. Do about 6 lbs lower than max.
Make sure the road is not slanted, must be flat.
If still not working for you, I would take it back, this should be covered if you just purchased it. But then again it depends on what kind of dealer. It will not be something covered under factory warranty I wouldn't imagine but under "general courtesy"........they'll probably blame it on a pothole or you hitting something. It was like that when you picked it up...stick to your story. Call now and inform them.

Thanks for the thoughts. I have already called the dealer, and will check tires tonight. At first I thought it was the road, but clearly not.
