Hey Guys,
I have a 2005 535d and when I put the air con on to the lowest temp setting (so it starts blasting air out) the air temp is cool.. but not cold... Used to have a 3 series and could only stand the air con on lowest setting for a few mins it was that cold.. in the 5 I sometimes struggle to get the temperature to drop to a comfortable level..
any ideas? Do I have to refresh the aircon coolant? could a belt have gone? is there anything I can easily check? Would love to get to the bottom of it without a trip to the stealer?
many thanks for any help, tips or advice!
Rick

You have to go to your menu and click on climate control. then you should see bars either see red, blue, or white go to the bar and turn your knob and you should see the temp color change either to red to blue or blue to red. Thats for Pre-LCI and LCI is almost the same thing.

Had the same problem with mine, the climate control in the idrive menu controls the heat to the centre vents. Felt pretty stupid when i found out! lol

I just had my 06 530i in to the dealer for some warranty work and complained about the air not being really cold. They replaced a bad ambient air temperature sensor which seems to have done the trick.
Only problem is that while they were messing about finding the problem they managed to stop my rear window defroster from working.
