Airbag + seatbelt after new seat install

Hello to all, need some help with my new seats installation. Got some lightly used seats from totaled 08 540i and tried to install them in my 08 535xi wagon. All went fine up to the point when I started the car and got the error codes 93F9 and 93FA together with the airbag light and seatbelt. Got the cable, and INPA tried clearing the codes but no luck. Put the old seats back and was able to clear the codes. My back hurts like hell from moving the seats in and out, and so I am searching for a solution to the problem. I know there are modules on the car like SGM module that I won't be able to clear with INPA, but it puzzles me that I can clear the code with the old seats in. Any help will be appreciated. Roman

I'm surprised you even got all the connections to fit. They are different seats with different options, you also have to think of the seat belt tensioner. You could try defaulting the seat module with NCS expert after you install the seats from the 540. You might also want to find what seats those are e.g. sport comfort, etc., and update your VO for those seats.

I have tried to install the seat belt tensioner from my original seats on to the new one without luck. My original seats are the regular 10 way. The once I am trying to install are the 20 way Comfort and my dealership told me that it should be simple plug&play. All plugs fit no problem and all the electrical on the new seats functions without a glitch.

93F9 Active head restraint,driver
93FA Active head restraint,front passenger

You need to either add or delete active head rest in your VO, which ever seat has it.
The air bag light won't go away unless you can get the pre-tensioners to work.

I am bit confused now. Are the pre-tentioners connected with the active headrest? Or do you think there might be something wrong with them?
When I moved the pre-tentioners from my old seat to the new one I was still getting the errors. I will see tomorrow if there were any additional errors with the comfort seat pre-tentioners.
If I remember right after the translation from german I was getting resistance too high on the error.
I will post more details on that tomorrow.
Thank you Gee_115 for replying.

If you are getting resistance too high usually that means corrosion on one of the wires or it could be that the voltage needed is incorrect. The pre-tensioners have nothing to do with the headrest they are a part of the ACSM (airbag system). I think the first step you need to take is to Update the VO then default both seat ECUs.

I could very wel be coding won't help you need a new ECU to handle the active headrest.
