Sounds like some of you also got the airbag/restraint/belt tensioner fautly message. Wonder what your dealers did to cure the problem, and how many trips to the shop did it take? Mine so far, 2 trips, supposedly a door module changed, faulty message comes back on next day after shop both times.

Also having the same problem. Have read in the problem sticky that the "CONTROL MODULE" is faulty. Have booked it in with dealer.

I have just purchased a new 5series E60 and on day 8 I had a FAULTY RESTRAINT SYSTEMS MESSAGE. The dealer tried to change some of the cars computer modules but the problem keeps re-appearing. They finally told me that I have to wait for the new software upgrade version 12 due mid June. Please email me if any of you had yours fixed and how?

Speaking of restraint systems, did anyone notice that the E60 doesn't have a shoulder belt height adjustment? The E39's belt would automatically adjust up and down on the B-pillar as you moved the seat fore and aft. Most likely another way that BMW managed to keep the costs down while introducing some serious technological advances.

Either way, I really don't miss the adjustment because the belt seems to hit me right where I want it.
