If I might stray a tad, does anyone know of a fool (me) proof pressure gauge. I have a guage that I can use without letting half the air out by the time I get a reading. Historically, I almost never made an air-release error with this gauge. But, I got my new 101's and access to the valve stems is very limited. So, even with my good gauge and my best efforts, I still had to fill one tire because I let so much air out trying to get a reading.

I've been using an Accugage Tire Gauge for years--very high quality, also had a bleed valve so you can get pressure just right without having to use your fingernail to release air & reattach gauge:

I just came off autosports web site looking for a new tire guage and there wasn't anything about the accuracy of the tire gauges that they sell.Did any literature come with the tire guage you bought telling you about accuracy? TIA
cheers

I don't remember anything, but the sites I visited that sell them rate them as the best. Here's some info:

Here's the manufacturer's site, but I couldn't find anything about accuracy:

[/quote]Thanks much. Yes, that's what I currently use; I should have said so. Sorry. I like the Accugage very much, but I still have the problem mentioned above even with it.

Actually, I have 2 Accugages (it's a long, but kind of funny, story). As I recall, neither came with an accuracy claim. And, they read about 7 psi different. I like the one that has the old fashion (rounded, not straight) nozzle because I usually can get it on the stem the first or second try without losing air.

By the responses to this post, my rims should be dragging on the pavement every couple of months. Maybe I'm missing something but i got my car Dec 10th, and haven't checked the air pressure yet. They look fine and no wear problems after 13,000 miles on my Dunlop runflats. You guys really check as often as weekly? I'm obviously out of touch here.

I do yes. Its safety and plus I like my tires to wear as best it can... it doesnt take long if you have the right tools at home... I do it in the comfort of the driveway after a car wash.

Given the stiff sidewall of the runflats you won't visibly see the decrease in pressure. A few months after I got my car I checked the pressure and found they were down in the 20's. Ever since I check the pressure regularly.

About twice a month. Fortunately, I have an air compressor in my garage.

I have to add 2-4lbs every two weeks to my 545i sport Dunlop runflats. Soon I'm going need new tires, and I'm thinking to get regular set of tires. Do you guys think that's a good idea to get regular tires??

I'm gonna go for non RF's! My Dunlop RF's suck, noicy and hard they are.

But should I buy Michelin PilotSport2, Continental SportContact2 or Bridgestone Potenza RE050 I do not know.

I hate to say this, but I usually check the tire pressures once a summer and once in the winter time
