My Ride: 2006 530xi => Silver-Gray with Beige Dakota leather; Auto, Premium, Cold, Comfort Access.
Other: 1998 MB 320E and 1990 MB E300
Please, someone, tell me how to shut it off. When I turned off the engine just now, the air keeps on going. I turned off "Auto" and pressed "OFF", but the air keeps running. It's not hot enough outside to have a hot engine. What the heck?

I had the same problem few months ago. I was pretty close to my BMW dealer, so I drove my e60 to the dealer when it happened.
I forgot what the problem was, but they told me that my e60 will shut off the power before the battery got drain out completely. You should be able to start the car tomorrow morning.
I left my service invoice at work. If I find it tomorrow, I?ll let you know.

My Ride: 530i Touring, M Sport, build date 10/05, Silver Grey, Black leather, Maple Anthracite, Anthracite roof lining, panorama roof, M Aerodynamic, M Steering wheel, M Sport suspension, sport seats, shadow line, 135 M wheels, Goodyear NCT 5 runflats, and some other stuff too.
Many cars do this, but have never noticed my BMW doing it, but the engine fan on my Volvo V70 2.4T would sometimes run for up to about 3 minutes after engine off. My Audi didn't. BMW should be able to tell you if this is normal or not. How long does it run for?

There is a function on E60 that allows you to blow hot air from the engine inside the car for 15 minutes after you shut the engine off when its cold to keep the insides warm - see if you accidentally turned it on.

It wasn't the "Rest" buttom for me. I checked when it happened.
My dealer replaced the Regulator for Blower of Heating/Air condition system. It's behind the iDrive system.
