How do you get the air to flow to your feet or to your chest in the car. I have changed the settings on the I-Drive Climate control, but cannot really see the difference. On my older 325Cic, you just move it off Auto and click on whichever level you want. But here - I can't seem to make a difference!

Anyone have a suggestion?

Which settings did you change? There are (at least on UK cars there are) 3 automatic settings Hi/Med/Low which seem to regulate both fan speed and air distribution, and these are the first option that comes up when you select Climate from the iDrive start screen.

On the upper-level menu there is an option called "Air Distribution". In there you should find settings for air flow for driver and passenger.

All explained much more clearly in the manual, with graphs and screen diagrams...

Under Auto setting, the car will change the airflow according to the temperature inside.

When the car is hot inside, and trying to cool..... air will blow more from the upper vents.

When car is cold, and trying to warm.... air will blow more from the footwell.

If you adjust the individual airflow through iDrive, you will be running without the automatic programs.
