When installing the belt put belt on crank pulley and as much of the compressor as possible. then put tool on...

Then turn crankshaft over until the belt is on. Remove tool.

You may need to help place the belt in place by guiding the belt and turning the motor over a couple revolutions.

Make sure the belt is fully seated when you are done.

Without the tool you may never get the belt on...

With the tool it can be on in less than an hour.

Tomorrow morning I'll go out into the shop to find out what size Torx socket you need to put here to relieve the tension for the main belt.

I'll have to go check to see if I can find one of those clamps to cut. Once the belt went on putting everything back was a snap. I wish something could be done about the heat and the mosquitos that would make my life a lot easier.

I moved out of Clear Lake back in 85? I have not been back.
