335i is a great car and can't take anything away from it, you can push and toss it around and it can handle almost anything you throw at it. It is just not a 550i and I missed the instant response and the overall car and V8 feel. The 550i just does about everything just right and that V8 humm is just to die for.

When I went to the 335i, i also thought there might be some saving in gas mileage but it really not that different. I was averaging 24MPG on the 335i and i was getting about the same on the 550i. I think I attribute this to the V8 not having to work as hard in town and even on the highway and from a stand still. I just drove the 2008 550i about 100 miles highway and city and averaged 23MPG, that is pretty impressive for this car.

To add to all of this, I really missed the room and comfort of the 550i, the 335i was a bit tight for me for every day use.

In my book, it is tops.

Great looking ride! You're not the only member with a short experience with a 335..sounds like me! I had mine for an entire week before trading it for my E60. Like you said, too small and tight. I won't be going back to the 3 any time soon. Good luck and great choice...again!

We will also require some 'clear' pics when you get settled down!

It looks like it's welcome Back to the V8 Club if you read his sig. I think I would have a tough giving up a V8 ..... even for just the sound .

Cheers

V8's are sweeeeet no doubt...all I've driven over the past 15 years. Kind of looking forward to the high tech twin-turbo in the 535i - but always have my GT500 for that badly need "V8 fix"!! Nothing sounds better than a nice set of exhaust and that great "backburbble" you get when letting off to shift through the gearbox.

Hey Bimmerturn...that is one very nice looking 550i for sure!! That carbon black sure does look like the Monaco Blue Met. I just ordered!! Beautiful the way it shimmers between dark blue and black - stunning!!

Oops! I stand corrected. Actually, I am lying in my bed typing this.

Welcome back to the V8 club!

That's because us old school folks (read: own a 545) are part of the geri8trics club!

Hey there ! stop that kind of talk !! You are an afficianado of fine cars! I say lets start the V8 club right now ! It's not about age it's about appreciation of a fine low end growl or the blitz of bottom line torque etc etc.!!

I'll post the start up. !

Cheers
