Hey everyone...I am thinking of picking up an older sports car and modernizing it and was wondering if any of you know of an aftermarket stereo system that works kinda like Idrive on the BMW. I(actually my wife :-P) have an 06 550i and really like using a console mounted knob to control the stereo and would love to find something similar for the other car...thoughts?

I did a car about 4 years ago with the Alpine Vehicle Hub Pro and an Alpine touch screen monitor. It works very similar to the idrive with the orb in the console, but the screen is also a touchscreen. You can have any feature you want, in this case we put in the HD radio tuner, XM satellite radio, DVD navigation with XM traffic info and voice control, iPod adaptor, aux input, Bluetooth, and CDC. Recently we upgraded the CDC to the new DVD changer. This system is very similar in function to the idrive, and it was an E39 that we installed it in.
