My Ride: 2006 545i, titanium gray, gray interior with poplar trim, sport package, cold weather package, premium sound
That was my wife's comment when driving her Ford Explorer after having driven my 545 for 3 days while I had her Explorer on an out-of-town trip with the kids. I have to say, I agree with her. Ain't it great to drive a BMW!

my wife is to afraid to drive my car.... she only drove it once and that was when i took home the car when i purchased it...i feel bad though..i always offer.

I can't even stand it when I get a new 3 series loaner at the dealership. That car is such a load of crap when compared to a 545.... I can't even believe they are made by the same company.

[/quote]Me too. Ii got the SMG thinking it woulf be less intimidating than the stick, bit the SMG seems to complicated to her. BMW should market this aspect of theSMG - wife deterrent - we might see a real boost in sales.

Yeah, I know what you mean. For me, however, the biggest issue between the two is size and driving enjoyment. After driving my e60, going into my e46 feels like it is too small and an un-stimulating drive.
I know an e90 M3 would change that real quick, though!
