They are great.
What works so well about them, in conjunction with the Xenons themselves, is that you do not need to have high beam activated as much on those twisty night-time roads - a great safefty feature for other drivers. Yes, I know we all dip our high beam when we see an oncoming vehicle but people sometimes forget.

god ...I HATE these damn adaptive headlights ..
The headlights detract from the over all feel of the car!
BMW shouldn't use electronics .. just look at the idrive.
The xenons are too bright and when you turn it makes the driver dizzy and its dangerous and I almost had an accident.
adaptive headlights are crap! ;-)
OK .. no really. they are awesome. I love them. I live in a somewhat older established community with lots of trees, and little tight twisty roads ... so its NICE to have them, espeically since ALL the street lights have been out in the entire community since hurricane charley ripped through here.
I'd recomment this for anybody to order ... you only live once .. & this feaure works very well in helping you see.

I love them. When I drive my wife's '05 330i I miss them. Doesn't seem like much but it is a great feature especially in rural areas where it is not lit very well.
