Thumbs up

This may be an old topic but does anyone have any views on this piece of kit.
Can they be seen turning? What happens with town/city driving at night? - Do they glare into oncoming cars as you turn out of a side street?

yes you can see them turn slightly, i was sceptical at first but they work VERY well esp on twisty roads, they illuminate far more of the corner before you turn in. not had any problems with mine in town/city driving, don't seem to dazzle anyone.

The first days with my baby, at night, that was the only thing I was looking at, those lights moving from side to side. Looks pretty cool IMHO.
I think BMW could work a little more on the turning degree, I believe they should turn some more.
I've noticed that all the other luxury car manufacturers are adding the adaptive lights to their cars and they are making a big deal out of it (TV ads, etc..)

Love 'em - but mine have just broke again!!! They 'only' turn 15 degrees but it works really well

I have a flashing failure light and no adaptive

Work very well on my 2.5 mile heavily wooded, very twisty road getting out to the highway. They look to perfectly match up to near 30-50 degree turns. Every rider has expressed amazement and commented on what a wonderful feature. No issues to date on meeting oncoming cars as I would expect. No difference than meeting a car on a straightaway, other than they might see us more easily with the lights pointing at them rather than off angle.

Thank God! Its early in the thread but I am waiting for the purist who takes the E60 on the track and finds that the headlights detract from the over all feel of the car and BMW shouldn't use electronics and that they wish it was a stand alone option and that the xenons are too bright and that when they turn it makes the driver dizzy and that its dangerous and I almost almost had an accident and that they should go back to doing things like the E39 and blah blah blah.

For the "purists" they give you a way to turn off the adaptive headlights so the night racers won't have too much trouble...

All you have to do is take the headlights off of automatic and the adptive feature turns off.
