Hi folks

My wife and I are off to France in our 535d MSport on Friday. Is there a way of adjusting the headlights (adaptive xenons) so they dip to the right instead of to the left?

In the olden days you used to stick some beam adjusters on the headlamp glass, but I expect it doesn't work like that anymore!

Hi Tim,

There is a circular plastic access cover approximately 25mm dia. on top of each headlight housing inside the engine bay.

Turn this 90 degrees and lift off. You will then see a lever inside. Push this left or right - I cannot remember which way but assuming your car is set up for the UK just push it the other way.

It is mentioned in the handbook but the one that came with my 05 535d had the information for LHD and RHD the wrong way round. After a bit of head scratching my dealer confirmed the handbook was incorrect.

Have a good trip.

Sequential is dead right. There is a little arm in there that you will need to flick up towards the outside of the engine bay when you are in a RHD country. When you get back to Blighty flick the arms down toward the centreline of the car. A word of warning - the circular covers will be very tight the first time you try and remove them. Very painful if you're not careful.
