Hi there thought you may be interested (or horrified by my recent experience).

I too am having problems with my Adaptive Headliughts, stopped working some months ago but I waited till the next service for BMW to have a look. The green light does flash on mine to confirm there is a problem.

Turns out I need a new stepper motor in one of the headlights. Lo and behold BMW only supply complete headlight unit, not stepper motor on it's own. As they are Bi Xenons they wanted over ?1K to supply and fit one new unit. I said I wouldn't pay that so the dealer said they would try and get BMW to do extended warranty repair as a goodwill gesture. Turns out they are prepared to pay 60% of the cost which now leaves me potentially with a bill over ?500 (I can't work out the maths either) to get my adaptive headlights working again.....NO Chance.

I am currently trawling breakers/web for a cheaper solution, otherwise i will live without.

So I hope you car is still under warrranty. Would be intereseted to see what is the fix in the end.

wow sorry to hear seems like that my be my problem also.. , my car is a 2004 with cpo warranty ti'll 100k so im good on warranty. im currently clocking 37k mi. and still under factory warranty... i will be taking in the car soon to get this looked into... hopefully i get 2 new headlights because of this.

Hey Guys,

I've got a pair of headlights I'm selling, (I got the euro spec clear corners).

If the warranty doesnt work out or you cant find any good deals for headlights, maybe you'de want to purchase mine.

off a 2004 530i, Bi Xenon, Adaptive headlights US Spec. The headlights work perfectly fine and Bulb and ballast are not included. ( you can probably use your old one)

Let me know if you need it, I'll be selling it for real cheap.
