1st let me start by saying that i already know when standing still the lights only swivel to the right and not the left.. that is not what im questioning...
recently last week i was driving and had the lights turn on in NON-adaptive.... as i was driving i decided to go auto... ADAPTIVE and notice that i was driving straight and my lights both of them pointed all the way to the right??? then i kept driving and turned the swicth to the right NON adaptive and the headlights got straight... and i did this repeatedly wile driving and the same thing kept happening....
so question is are my lights bad??? or are the motors inside bad? any 1 else experience this... I searched but didnt see anything about lights staying to the right...

Sounds like something might be wrong with them -- does the little green light near the light switch blink or stay on steadily when you're in adaptive mode?
If it blinks, then there is a fault. If it's steady on, then the system isn't detecting a fault (but there still could be one...)

I didn't know you could turn the adaptive lights on and off anyway.
They are adaptive (swivelling round corners) whether you have the lights on Auto (switch fully left) or just headlights on (switch fully right).
Mine have never given me any kind of trouble let alone the problem you're describing.
Time for a visit to Dr. BMW Service-Man me thinks.

Have not noticed this happening on mine. I have also switched between adaptive and non-adaptive while driving and have never seen the lights point right while driving in adaptive unless of course I was turning right.

yeah the light stays green... nothing blinks... iv"e just kep telling my self maybe its a goof up with the system like a glitch and hoped it would some how fix itself but its been like 2 weeks... and still doing the same.. im here in FL not many curvy roads to really take advantage of the adaptive so ive done fine without them... but anyways im making an appointment tajing the car in next week... I'll report back on this issue.. relly weird... i dont know how they'll detected it though cause it dosent do it while stope only driving... i"ll specify to them to try looking into this at night if possible... I hope i get 2 new lights that'll be cool.. i'll keep posted.

Not true. If you switch on the headlight in manual mode (clockwise turn of the switch) they are not adaptive (they are still self-leveling though...)

Hi there thought you may be interested (or horrified by my recent experience).
I too am having problems with my Adaptive Headliughts, stopped working some months ago but I waited till the next service for BMW to have a look. The green light does flash on mine to confirm there is a problem.
Turns out I need a new stepper motor in one of the headlights. Lo and behold BMW only supply complete headlight unit, not stepper motor on it's own. As they are Bi Xenons they wanted over ?1K to supply and fit one new unit. I said I wouldn't pay that so the dealer said they would try and get BMW to do extended warranty repair as a goodwill gesture. Turns out they are prepared to pay 60% of the cost which now leaves me potentially with a bill over ?500 (I can't work out the maths either) to get my adaptive headlights working again.....NO Chance.
I am currently trawling breakers/web for a cheaper solution, otherwise i will live without.
So I hope you car is still under warrranty. Would be intereseted to see what is the fix in the end.
