My Ride: 04' 530i w/sport package
Default Adaptive Headlight problem

So, Last weekend I took my 04 530i Sport package into the dealership for an oil change and a state inspection. Since getting it back, I now have an 'adaptive headlights fault'. The little green led is now flashing at me inside the car next to the headlight switch and while all my bulbs are currently working, they don't self-level at start-up and they don't move while driving.

While there, they offered me a $275 headlight resurfacing service which I declined. I can't help but think that if I had accepted this service, my headlights would be fine....

Has anyone else experienced this type of situation? I'm taking it back tomorrow morning to find out what is going on with it, but so help me god, if they come back with a 'convenient failure' excuse and want to charge me a ton of money, I'm gonna go crazy on them and will be calling the BMW USA advocates...

Did you also get your tires rotated or anything else that required them to remove any wheels? There is a small lever attached to one of the wheels (right front I think) that controls the auto height. Perhaps they messed that up somehow.

Yea, they replaced all brakes too. Oddly enough, it cost less than my Indy... That's another conversation tho... lol How can I find this lever?

Here is a picture of it on an M3 of some vintage. Yours may not be exactly the same. Yours is on the passenger side in the front. Take the tire off and you can see all of this:
Suspension Changes and Headlight Aiming Problems

Here is your parts in Realoem:

Great! Thanks for the info, It makes sense now... Hopefully that's all it is and not a control module...
