Thumbs up

Just wondering what everyone's opinion on adaptive bixenon are - they a A$3,000 option (about US$2,300 or 1,800 euro) or 2.5% of the cost of the car here in Australia for the 530i. Do you think i would get it back in my resale price? Anyone with pictures of halogens and bixenon for comparison?

I don't know what to tell you about resale, other than my gut feeling is you would get a better resale value, of course, when you sell. But, I love both the adaptive feature, and more importantly, the bixenon feature. These are great lights, that illuminate very well without being obnoxious for oncoming traffic. I have no regrets in getting them on my 530.....

I recently asked the same question and got a resounding thumbs up for them :-)

Well,

i thought they were not worth but, after driving so often at night in dark roads with many curves..all I can say is "i am glad i had adaptive light instead of the Logi7 sound"

in my opinion..they are worth

my 2 cents

In my experience biXenon and adaptive light are both worth all euro they cost.
Just my opinion on 530d and 535d too.

I've had bi-xenons on my last few cars, and they are great--it's like night and day (pardon the pun) compared to halogen headlights!! I drove a friend's car without xenons a few weeks ago, and the difference was remarkable. And the adaptive headlights are also great. Some of those items that when you first hear of them, you question if they're worth it, and after having them, wonder how you did without them!

In Australia id you plan to do a lot of country driving, zenons are definatly worth it, but Id hardly take an e60 out in the dusty Australian outback.

I'm getting all kinds of Mad Max ideas with an E60 in the Outback. I can see the guys on the motorcycles with chains following you there... brrrr

thanks for the ideas guys - i think convincing the mrs is going to be the trickiest part - an extra 2.5% to the cost of the car when the standard headlights do a alright job of anyway...

yeah - don't think i will be going out to the outback anytime soon, definitely not with the 5 - so no mad max'ing for me.
