Hi guys,

A couple of week ago i had a problem with A/S, it turned out to be a faulty motor on the sterring rack which controls the sterring ratio, anyway they replaced it. Since they replaced the motor the steering now seems to feel much heavier at normal driving speed, it is super light at low speeds as it was before but just feels less repsonswive than it was? Has anyone experienced this with A/S?

Active Steering has been updated to feel heavier since it first came out; it does not feel as loose as it use to when it first came out. Thats probably the reason.

Now the question is... is it a new part for the motor or is the heavier feel solely due to the updated software that got programmed in after the new part was installed?

About six months ago i have the control unit for the active steering replaced and software upgarded and there was no change to the feel. Does the steering feel have to do with the motor on the steering rack or simply the software controlling it? I agree that since the change the steering is not as "loose" at higher speed, maybe it is better and i just have to get used to the heavier feel?

well put....that is what i am interested in knowing?

I rang my dealer and they are going to see if there should be a change in the feel of the steering....from past experience this forum seem to provide more detailed and accurate information than my dealer ever has.
