Give it a couple of days it may reset itself. I hit a pothole one day and mine came on. I tried reset nothing happened. Tried it the next day and it reset. Just keep trying during the day it should reset. These cars are nothing but computers.

Any luck on this? I left my car parked at the airport for 8 days and I have had the same warning since I got back. It has been 3 days and I still get the malfunction.

nope.... i went to EAS autosport in anaheim ca. to reset the codes and see if they could help... they were super cool and friendly, anyways they reset the codes and as soon as drove off the damn steering malfunction went off again.... i dont know what to do.... the guy at eas said that it was a hard code and that something might actually be wrong with it....I'm gonna look into see if there is a recall of some sort.... Good luck with yours let me know if you figure it out. someone also said it might be an alignment problem...

Yes, I checked my power steering fluid and it is good. My issue is pretty much exactly like getnlazyr; I can reset the problem, but as soon as I start driving I get the active steering malfunction.

Getnlazyr: Do you lose other systems? When this happens, I lose DTC and my cruise control also. It really seems like we have a battery/charging issue. I will spend some more time this weekend on it and see what I can figure out.

i had a similar problem like this, i left my sunroof cracked and it rained hard, then when i got back to car it was all wet and when i started the engine it said active steering malfunction and the steering wheel felt really hard to turn. I just kinda ignored it and drove off with it and it went away few miles down and never came back up......
