For those who have active steering, on a cold start when you guys turn on your car and as the steering wheel starts to decline does it glide down smoothly? Mine makes a little rubbing noise can't really describe the noise, but when i brought it into the dealer they told me that it is normal because i have active steering??

It is not normal. I saw my service records and the steering column got replaced by the previous owner. I believe its the steering column that is not moving smoothly. Also, mrfva had the same issues as well (I think). Take it back and tell them to warranty it.

Well my active steering failed twice (the same day) at minus 10 degrees C, and so I was left with normal steering, but since then I had no problems/noises. Maybe the steering mechanism is a bit temperature sensitive? But then again......some E60s drive in parts of the world that never go warmer than minus 10 degrees C, so......
