That's what I did. The tech will be able to trace the error. Just because the error goes away doesn't mean the problem has been solved. A "valve block" had to be ordered from back east and replaced.

I had the "steering fault" message several times. After a couple trips to the dealer where they couldn't find the problem but upgraded my software anyway, I figured out that it happened only when the car was cold, and the weather was cold (below 45F). Eventually they figured out it was just low on steering fluid. Once the fluid warmed up, the problem couldn't be reproduced.
