For those lucky few who have taken delivery on their new 5 series - pls tell us about Active Steering.

Is it easy to get used to ?

Does it make the driving more enjoyble ?

Can the car be 'thrown' about and still handle well ? (as some posts suggest)

Thanks a lot!

Yes, Yes and Yes.

I think active steering is great. You get used to very easily.
The active steering in my opinion makes the car fell much more nimble compared to the regular steering. Parking and driving at lower speeds is very easy/light and at the same time when driving fast( 100-125 mph or more) the steering feels solid and heavy and provides good stability. The change in the amount of steering effort required and the way the steering becomes heavier happens smoothly and gradually and in fact feels very natural.
Throwing the car around winding roads with lots of twists and turns is also very enjoyable. Especially if you also have dynamic drive and tyres 245/40R18 front 275/35R18 rear.

I absolutely recommend active steering
