I displayed the hidden menu on the instument cluster and then unlocked the menu.

The resulting displays then showed accurate rpm's, actual speed, test display (to make sure that all the warning messages are working), reset, consumption and many more which I did not understand.

These displays work while driving the car as well.

Interestingly the rpm's do not change at all with the aircon on or off which seems different to those of you with petrol cars.

I am sure how to do this has been discussed before so I wont go into detail again unless specifically requested to do so.

Cheers

Streak

i also meant to say that the revs not changing with air con on/off is understandable because in a diesel the engine speed is controlled so switching on the air con will result in more disel being used to bring the rpm back to the origional figure but in a petrol the engine will just slow down unless you give it more "gas"

Hold down the km reset button and turn the key to first position (radio on) immediately release the button.
You will see a small display where the time/temp etc. usually appears.
Sequential presses of the button steps through this menu ie. 1,2,3,4,5 etc. up to about 21.

Add up the digits of the numbers printed on your window.
Go to position 19 on the menu and wait a second or two. Under lock you will see a position to enter the calculated number which you do by sequential presses of the button.

Once you get to your calculated number stop pressing the button and wait.

Menu goes back to position 1.
Now toggle through to say position 7. Once you get there wait a couple of seconds and you will then see 7.1, next press shows 7.2 etc. etc.

You will see that it displays, rpm, fuel consumption, battery voltage, current speed, core temp. etc. etc. etc.

Each menu has something different some meaningful some not so meaningful.

Those of you that understand German may be able to translate.

Good luck

Streak
